Blizzcon '05
So last week I went to the first Blizzcon event, and I figured I might as well recap what I saw here!
Dancing Blood Elves! (1.6MB)
(Alternatively, hit up http://wow.tachyonsix.com/blizzcon/ for thumbnails of the pics)
Pics of the Convention floor itself, Blizzard, Burning Crusade, and banners.
And rows upon rows upon rows of computers to play the expansion.
The StarCraft Ghost area was also pretty interesting. The statue looked really well made.
Battlegrounds had a long line pretty much all day.
I took a lot of pictures at the Art Gallery, because dang...they had so much cool stuff. From Warcraft concept art to just plain art to storyboards. Box covers, Burning Crusade concepts and paintings.
Plenty of Starcraft Ghost stuff too.
I stood in this line for you guys!
Ohh, and costumes!
Murloc President protesting murloc slavery.
One of many succubi.
Diablo Sorceress, Tauren, and some dwarves.
Mechanostrider!
The Murloc guy hanging out with a priest and a mage.
Keeper of the Grove, who moved slow, but was pretty impressive.
More succubi and elves and mages.
So two elves, two mages, and a dwarf walk into a bar...
Nova being interviewed standing next to the Nova statue.
Murloc guy being interviewed.
The Warcraft III and Starcraft tournaments were amazing. Just watching how the pros played...wow.
Then I attended a couple panels. Got to see what the Tier 2 sets would look like. Ten Storms and Judgement, Stormrage and Dragonslayer, Wrath, and Bloodfang.
Previews of Ahn'Qiraj and the mobs. The 40-man raid dungeon is huge. They showed a map, and that area at the bottom right is the Scarlet Monastery Library wing for comparison.
Naxxramas is a floating Necropolis. There's a reason it has a proper name, and we were told we'd get to fight a Frost Wyrm in there, woo!
Kharazan should be fun too. The sense of scale was astounding. One of the ceilings has a quartet of orcish cherubs painted on it.
The Burning Crusade should add even more raid content too!
They talked about Battlegrounds, mentioning what they learned. Warsong was meant as quick game you could finish during lunch, with different offense/defense strategies. They didn't expect the Zerg though. They also learned that losing WSG sucks.
They also showed us the most dangerous monsters. Alliance easy mode? Not according to the Defias Pillagers and Kobold Miners!
And then there was the PA/PvP/GuComics panel.
