I realized this hadn't been updated in a while, so here's an amusing anecdote to make your brain boil.

So I'm at Target, buying an undisclosed gift for Dr. Endy. I'm not going to say what it is, but it's about a war, and there are some stars involved. But they don't have any on the shelves at the sale price. (Well, sure, there's Revenge of the Shit Sith, but would you wish that on your worst enemy, let alone your wife?) I really want to get her the theatrical versions, which they don't sell in a box set, but I can only find one (again, I don't want to give it away, but there's an empire and striking back occurs).

I finally make my way over to the kid at the electronics desk. "Excuse me, do you have any more of the limited edition NOT STAR WARS NOT STAR WARS DR. ENDY DON'T THINK YOU KNOW YOUR GIFT YOU CAN'T READ MY MIND DVDs left?"

He checks -- they don't. "Let me get you a rain check, since the sale is over Monday."

While I'm standing at the desk, another kid opts to engage me in conversation. "Yeah, you should get those. I have them and they're totally worth it."

Oh, thanks, kid. I wasn't sure -- I'd never heard of these "Star Wars" before, I just thought I'd drop my money on a lark. "My wife's a big fan."

"Me, too!" he gushes. "Well, I didn't care too much for the old-school ones."

Uh-oh.

"But the first one --"

This is where my brain turned itself off in order to survive.

"-- was awesome!"

LA LA LA I'M NOT LISTENING

"Episode 2 was all right, but the third one was the best, I thought."

OH MY GOD STOP TALKING
